Recently I released my second sermon Spiritual Warfare. I think this sermon covers many of the things Paul taught us about when living in a world of sin.
The world of fantasy and entertainment:
Many do not realize the extent of planning that the devil goes through in putting all sorts of things in front of us to zone us out from reality. Like TV, Movies, Music, and all sorts of entertainment to get our minds off of God. People of all ages are zoning out to Hollywood fantasy, ungodly activities like pornography, or indulging in alternative lifestyles, cruel acts against others and calling it all good while calling good bad and protesting by going after those who follow the moral laws of God. There are so many worldly things to keep ones mind from God including the root of all evil, money and the greed that goes with it. Just as we see with many of these rich corporate types like AIG. Its a shame what the human race is coming to in its so called evolution. But many are coming to the realization that there is something more then this life of materialistic lifestyle and to what is really going on behind the scenes. As many people are being entertained by the ungodly things of this world, many others are looking around with amazement that so many of the people are just plain blind to the horror that is taking place, and that they do not even realize it.
The blind are leading the blind to what will end in a major catastrophe with God. I too was blind for a very long time always following others as they sinned, thinking it was the norm until I was called to God, and to be washed in the blood of his son Jesus Christ. From there I accepted Christ and since then my eyes has been wide opened and while some close to me do not see the evil taking place, I see it in full force and the harm its doing.
Mans traditions rather then the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 15:6):
Then as I started to research and compare many bibles and texts I noticed so many were watered down with re-wording or some mistranslated meanings. I then recently read a Peshitta Bible which is the direct Gospels translated from Aramaic to English. From my research and amazement of the true words of Christ in full, I noticed the closest to this text was the KJV which was translated from Greek. As I kept reading the Aramaic texts I noticed Jesus always kept saying most of today's religious organizations follow traditions of men instead of the true Gospels and the true way to worship God. Matthew 15:6 - "And you nullify the Word of God because of your traditions". This is absolutely true! People seem to be comforted by following the doctrines of men rather then the doctrines of God. For example, the 10 Commandments, Jesus says to the young rich man in Matthew 19:17 - "Now if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments". There is no clearer saying then this. Sadly, many of today's churches do not follow the 10 commandments as they say we are saved by grace, or some just pick and choose to fit their benefit. If you read Matthew Jesus always condemns those who think they have authority over others and over the true word of God. Today's religious leaders should not be leading people to their doom, but rather humble themselves as elders and lead people to the teachings of Jesus in order for Jesus to take us to the kingdom of God. Most of today's religious traditions are an abomination to the teachings of Christ and to God himself. It reminds me of a saying that a writer named Thomas Brooks wrote in his 1792 book called Precious Remedies Against Satan's Device, "A Wolf can do more damage wearing Sheep's clothing". So its not just the entertainment world we have to worry about its also mans traditions and false teachings which setup a dangerous path that leads the blind to fall into the ditch with the blind leaders while the whole time not realizing what is taking place. This is happening all over the world.
People do not realize of the times:
While most are blindly following the traditions of men or those following the latest and greatest entertainment, and worldly lusts, there are Christians being persecuted, killed, raped, all over the world. This is not just in 3rd world countries either but also right here in the USA. This is a world wide epidemic and its just getting worst and worst. The true Gospel of the Old Testament, the New Testament of Christ and the Apostles are being removed, or ignored while everyone feeds their lust of worldly things and satisfactions. I pray that people will open up their eyes and hearts to Jesus and allow him to lead them to the kingdom of God before probation is over for the human race and God passes Judgement.
